Who we are

Addressing shortages of essential medicines for children across the United States.

Committed to a bold vision

This first-in-kind coalition brings together some of the top children’s hospitals in the nation and Phlow®, an innovative essential medicines manufacturer, to raise awareness about the broken essential medicines supply chain for pediatric patients and to help provide a solution.

Together, coalition members seek to solve the persistent problem of shortages of essential medicines plaguing children’s hospitals across the U.S. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exposed vulnerabilities in the overall U.S. hospital supply chain, particularly regarding essential injectable medications. To address this issue, the CHC works to revolutionize the way essential medicines necessary to sustain life and conquer disease are brought to children in need and to fix the nation’s broken essential medicines supply chain.

A growing coalition

The founding members of the CHC are: Arkansas Children’s, Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, Children’s National Hospital, Children’s Wisconsin, Cincinnati Children’s, Cook Children’s, Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Phlow®.

The Children’s Hospital Coalition invites other hospitals to join the movement to increase the resiliency of the pediatric pharmaceutical supply chain. As a member, you will collaborate with the coalition to identify and prioritize the most needed essential medicines and help ensure the reliable supply of them, including sterile injectable medicines and medications used to treat pediatric cancers and rare diseases. Phlow® will work quickly to ensure a high-quality, reliable supply of these essential medicines and will provide transparent, cost-plus pricing for all coalition members under uniform long-term purchasing agreements. Through collaboration and partnership, the Children’s Hospital Coalition will work toward safeguarding every child’s access to the essential medicines necessary to sustain life and conquer disease.
